WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Payments Strategy: Conduct strategic analysis of KYC and Payment & Fraud processes on an ongoing basis and deliver KPI reports to relevant stakeholders to ensure visibility on operational performance of all owned responsibilities. Provide input on the technology requirements and payments product roadmap prioritization for new features and functionality to ensure that the Canadian Payments and Fraud ecosystem is tailored to the North American market; ability to incorporate input from management and product and tech teams is essential. With the support of management, maintain vendor relationships and support the renewal of vendor contracts associated with the Payments and Fraud function. Communicate with and listen to feedback from all relevant PointsBet stakeholders and foster respectful and collaborative communication under guidance of executive management.
Payments & Fraud Operations: Lead the KYC, Payments & Fraud operations team to ensure service levels as set by management are maintained. Review and make decisions on KYC, Payments and Fraud cases that have been escalated by various stakeholders. Liaise with management where required and/or Compliance, Operations, and Technology stakeholders. Ensure quality assurance of team decisions and communications, including withdrawal assessment, refunds, calls, SMS, and emails. Manage rostering and workforce management for your team, as responsible owner of the Canadian shift, but work to manage any resource gaps and leave periods to ensure operational continuity, which may involve occasional weekend shifts cover for leave periods for one of your direct reports. Provide training for employees and stakeholders to promote fraud review referrals within the general operations team. Be the liaison for KYC, Payments and Fraud to business stakeholders. Oversee customer security & fraud audits, and liaise with other auditors (internal and external) and reporting any material risks to executive management. Align global operations as much as possible to minimize jurisdictional divergence where possible and ensure Canadian operational differences are communicated to global stakeholders. Ensure compliance with PointsBet policies, in particular our KYC, Payments & Fraud, compliance, and AML policies. From time to time, as requested by superiors or using your own initiative, assist other team members in the broader operations and compliance functions to carry out tasks or respond to ad hoc matters requiring urgent attention.
Finance: With support from the finance team, oversee client bank accounts, payments gateways, and client bank reconciliations; provide client bank reconciliation adjustments for financial reporting including the provision of accounting entries related to Payments & Fraud costs.
SKILLS WE SEEK Minimum of 2 years experience in a payments related job function; Accounting or MBA degree is preferred but not required Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Work ethic: follows through, is accountable and acts with a clear sense of ownership. Workplace savvy: works well with others, self-aware and open to criticism. Builds constructive relationships.
